A letter with no number beside it that the owner reads as a code
A label doing its job. The letter exists so the next figure has an owner. Nothing about it is a fault.
No band covers this one — quoted after the diagnosis

F, r, FE and rE are not faults. Each letter names the thermistor whose temperature comes next on the display in Diagnostic Mode. Sub-Zero Pro Repair Denver reads the pairs against each other — (720) 704-2791.

Built-In panels read in Diagnostic Mode, older and newer alike
Enter Diagnostic Mode and the panel does not simply list temperatures. It puts a letter up first, then the figure that belongs to it. F is the freezer compartment, r the refrigerator compartment, FE the freezer coil and rE the refrigerator coil.
Read as pairs, they answer what a single figure cannot: is the compartment warm because the coil is warm, or in spite of it.

A compartment reading normally while its evaporator letter reads high
The manual sorts its causes by evaporator temperature for exactly this reason. The coil figure moves first; the shelf follows.

An older cabinet offering a fifth letter the newer ones do not
An inactive line, listed on the earlier generation's table. It is part of how that control describes itself, not a fault it is reporting.
No band covers this one — quoted after the diagnosis
There is nothing here to keep running from. Letters are labels, and a cabinet showing them is simply being read. What matters is the figure each letter introduces: if one of those is wrong, that is where the diagnosis starts.
