EC 30 counts how long the fill valve stayed open

EC 30 is a counter. The control logged the ice maker's water valve energised for more than fifteen seconds, five separate times. Sub-Zero Pro Repair Denver reads the count and the shared circuit behind it — (720) 704-2791.

Built-In 600-3 panels that log a numbered code for the water valve

An ice bin of clear cubes lifted out of an undercounter ice maker, the water line and its shut-off fitting visible in the cavity

Two items make up Sub-Zero’s whole test list for this code. Look in the ice maker for a jammed cube. Then follow the white wire the valve solenoid shares with other components, back to the control board.

That brevity is the useful part. A count of long fills is a narrow complaint, and it stays narrow.

What we measure

  1. 01 Whether the code is stored alone or beside another A single valve count on an otherwise clean panel reads very differently from one filed with a temperature code.
  2. 02 The ice maker itself, for a cube out of place The manufacturer's first item. A jammed cube is the whole list before any wiring is considered.
  3. 03 Continuity on the white-wire circuit the valve solenoid shares The second and last item. That circuit runs on to other components, so a fault there rarely announces itself at the valve.
  4. 04 Both compartment temperatures, while we are in front of the panel This code says nothing about cooling. Reading them anyway separates a valve count from a cabinet that has a second problem.

What it usually is

EC 30 stored, ice production normal, nothing visibly wrong

A cube that bridged and cleared itself. The count survives in memory long after the jam has gone, which is why clearing it deliberately matters.

No band covers this one — quoted after the diagnosis

The count returning after the record was cleared

Something still holding the valve open past its allowance. That is a live fault rather than a stale entry, and it belongs to the water side of the machine.

Ice module, fill valve or supply line $280–$790

EC 30 filed beside a run-time or sensor code

Two separate stories on one panel. We treat the cooling code as the one to answer first, because it is the one costing the cabinet.

Safe to keep running?

Yes. This code says nothing about cooling, and a cabinet carrying it holds its temperatures. The manufacturer's owner guide does ask you to look for water near the ice maker when this condition shows, and the count stays in memory until it is cleared deliberately.
