The bell lit on a cabinet that has never once chimed
The feature, on. Somebody caught the key during a clean, or it has been enabled since installation and nobody had reason to notice.

A lit bell means the door alarm feature is switched on. It reports a setting, not a fault. Sub-Zero Pro Repair Denver would not quote a repair against it, though the key beneath it does a second job worth knowing — (720) 704-2791.

Control Center and current Classic panels that print a bell symbol
Sub-Zero’s guides leave no room here. On the older built-in panel a bell symbol becomes visible once the alarm has been activated; the current display table lists the same symbol as illuminating when the door alarm is activated. Activated means switched on at the key — not triggered, not warning of anything. No manufacturer document describes a bell that reports temperature.
The interesting thing about that key is unrelated to bells. On Built-In controls it is the alarm key, held down for fifteen seconds, that clears stored error codes and the steady service indicator once the fault behind them has been corrected. One key, two jobs.

The bell lit beside a service word
Two unrelated things sharing a panel. The service word carries the stored complaint, and it is read out in diagnostic mode rather than guessed at.

Fifteen seconds on the key, a steady service word, and no beep
Sub-Zero's precondition is that the fault has been put right and the unit switched on. Where both hold and nothing happens, the panel itself is tested next, not the code.

Nothing here needs watching. A lit bell changes nothing about how the cabinet cools, and switching the feature off at the key changes nothing either — beyond losing the warning the next time a door is left open. If something else on the panel is what brought you here, that is the part worth reading.
